The Shenzhen Municipal Government attaches great importance to the development of the logistics industry, and issued the "Opinions of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and the Shenzhen People's Government on Accelerating the Construction of a Logistics Center with Global Influence in Shenzhen" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions") in October 2023, indicating the direction for the development of the logistics industry. Data show that as of September 15 this year, the container throughput of Shenzhen port 23.2776 million TEU, an increase of 14.13%. Among them, heavy container 15.3609 million TEU, accounting for 65.99%, an increase of 17.53%. Among container heavy containers, export heavy containers were 10.919,700 TEU, an increase of 17.30%; Imported heavy containers reached 4.4411 million TEU, up 18.09% year on year.
From January to August this year, the cargo and mail throughput of Shenzhen Airport was 1.179 million tons, an increase of 16.8%, and the development situation was better than that of major domestic airports as a whole, ranking third in the country in cargo and mail throughput. Among them, the international and regional cargo volume of 601,000 tons, an increase of 23.8%, accounting for 51%.
From January to July 2024, the average prosperity index of Shenzhen logistics industry was 51.80%, an increase of 8.29 percentage points year-on-year. From January to July, the added value of Shenzhen's logistics industry was 166.381 billion yuan, an increase of 7.90%.

It has enhanced the integrated service function of international shipping, with 248 international liner routes, the container throughput of Shenzhen Port has ranked among the top four in the world for 10 consecutive years, and the LNG handling and unloading volume has ranked first in the country for three consecutive years. A total of 43 combined port routes have been opened to achieve full coverage of combined ports in the nine mainland cities and seven customs regions of the Greater Bay Area, and 19 inland ports have been listed for operation. Six international ro-RO shipping routes have been opened, and automobile maritime exports in 2023 have increased by 348% year-on-year. The radiation level of international aviation hubs has been upgraded, with 83 international and regional passenger and cargo routes, 20 more than in 2018, 38 international cargo points, including 11 cross-border e-commerce air freight lines, and the country has taken the lead in implementing cross-border e-commerce live cargo transport pilot projects. In 2023, the cargo throughput of the airport reached 1.6 million tons, an increase of 31.3% over 2018, ranking third in the country. It has set up 28 urban terminals and 6 off-site cargo advance warehouses, and built infrastructure such as the airport satellite Hall and B2 cargo station. With Kashgar, Nyingchi and other cities to achieve direct flights, flight time peak hour capacity standard ranked first in domestic dual-runway airports.
To expand the modern logistics advantages of the industry, the introduction of Shenzhen 7+30+N three-level logistics station system planning, the construction of high-grade warehouses, cold chain warehouses about 1.87 million square meters, Shenzhen logistics enterprises in the global layout of overseas warehouses exceeded 3.8 million square meters, the scale ranked second in the country. Cultivate more than 4,000 logistics and supply chain enterprises such as SF Express and Yiyatong, including one of the world's top 500 enterprises, two of the national Top 50 logistics enterprises, and 24 supply chain enterprises exceeding 10 billion yuan. China has expanded China-Europe and other international cross-border train services, including 19 routes and 642 trains, covering 43 foreign cities. In 2023, the city's express delivery business volume was 6.37 billion, an increase of 98.4% over 2018.

Shenzhen Airport has actively expanded and improved the city's international cargo route network. By the end of August 2024, three new international cargo routes have been opened between Shenzhen and Budapest, Kuching and ABU Dhabi. Shenzhen Port, day and night, is a business card in the world and is developing rapidly as a core hub port in the global Bay area. The international liner routes cover the major ports of six continents and twelve navigation regions in the world, and it has been ranked among the top four container ports in the world for 20 consecutive years. Six new combined port routes were opened, a total of 43 combined port routes were opened, covering 11 cities including Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Dongguan and Foshan in Guangdong province, and the container throughput was 271,200 TEU through the combined port mode, an increase of 37.1% year-on-year. In 2023, the city's logistics industry added value of 352.235 billion yuan, an increase of 6%, accounting for 10.18% of GDP.
